Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 July 2026

The short version

  • Voxnour is built for parents and guardians, who hold and control the account.
  • We use your voice recording only to create narration in your voice. It is never sold or used to advertise to you.
  • Children never create accounts. A parent controls everything through a PIN-protected Kids Mode.
  • We never sell your personal information or your child's information.
  • You can delete your account and all your data at any time from the app.

This summary is for convenience only and does not replace the full policy below.

1. Who we are

Voxnour (ABN 38 168 432 189) (“Voxnour”, “we”, “us” or “our”), of Parramatta, Sydney NSW, Australia, provides a service that lets a parent record their voice once and then generate personalised animated bedtime stories narrated in that voice.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and the rights and choices you have. It applies to the Voxnour website, web application and any related services (together, the “Service”). We are the data controller responsible for your personal information.

2. Children's privacy

Voxnour is a service for parents and guardians, not for children. The account is held and controlled by a parent or guardian. Children do not create accounts, provide us with information directly, or make purchases.

The account holder — a parent or guardian — creates all content and controls the experience. Children can only watch finished stories through a PIN-protected Kids Mode that the parent sets up and controls. Kids Mode does not allow story creation, purchases, profile changes or access to account settings.

Any information about a child (for example, a child's first name, age range or a character they like) is provided by the parent, who consents to our processing it to personalise stories. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us information without a parent's involvement, contact us (see Section 17) and we will delete it. Parents can review, correct or delete any information relating to their child at any time.

3. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information — your email address, display name and an encrypted password, managed through our secure sign-in system. If you sign in with a third-party provider (such as Google, Facebook or Apple), we receive your email and name from that provider.
  • Voice recordings and voice models — the audio you record to clone your voice, and the voice model derived from it. See Section 4.
  • Story content you create — themes, tones, characters (names and descriptions), age ranges, series details, and the generated story text, images, audio narration and finished videos.
  • Payment information — handled by our payment provider. We receive your subscription status, billing interval and a customer reference; we do not store your full card number.
  • Device and usage information — IP address, browser and device type, and diagnostic logs generated when you use the Service.
  • Communications — messages you send us for support, and (if you opt in) a push-notification subscription so we can tell you when a story is ready.

4. Voice recordings & biometric data

Your voice recording, and the voice model created from it, may be considered biometric or sensitive information under some laws. Because of this, we treat it with particular care:

  • Consent. We create a voice clone only after you actively record or upload a sample and ask us to. You confirm that the voice is your own (or that you are authorised to use it).
  • Purpose limitation. We use your voice solely to generate story narration for you. We do notuse it to identify you or to advertise, and we do not sell it. Your recording is shared with our voice-cloning sub-processor to provide this narration; that processor’s own handling of the data is governed by its terms of service, not this policy.
  • Processing partner. Voice cloning and narration are performed by a specialist voice-AI sub-processor acting on our instructions (see Section 7). Your original recording is stored in our secure cloud storage so narration can be re-generated if needed.
  • Deletion. You can delete a voice at any time from your profile. Deleting your account removes your voice recordings and instructs our processor to remove the associated voice model.

5. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • create your account, authenticate you and keep the Service secure;
  • generate stories, images and voice narration, and assemble and store your videos;
  • apply automated child-safety filtering to story content;
  • process payments, manage subscriptions and enforce plan limits;
  • send you service messages and, where you opt in, notifications that a story is ready;
  • provide customer support and respond to your requests;
  • maintain, troubleshoot and improve the Service; and
  • comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Where the law requires a legal basis (for example under the GDPR), we rely on: performance of our contract with you; your consent (for voice cloning and push notifications); our legitimate interests in operating and improving a safe service; and compliance with legal obligations.

6. AI & automated content generation

Voxnour uses artificial-intelligence services to turn your choices into a finished story. Story text, scene images and voice narration are generated by specialist AI providers acting on our instructions to deliver the Service to you (see the categories of providers in Section 7).

Automated safety filters (guardrails) screen story content to help keep it appropriate for children. No automated decision produces a legal or similarly significant effect about you. Religious-character stories are queued for human review rather than generated automatically.

7. Sub-processors & third parties

We share information with a small number of trusted service providers (“sub-processors”) who process it only on our instructions to run the Service:

8. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information or your child's information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share information only:

  • with the sub-processors listed in Section 7, to operate the Service;
  • when you ask us to — for example, if a feature lets you share a story with a family member you choose;
  • to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the Service; and
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you and this policy will continue to protect your information.

9. How long we keep information

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Your finished videos are stored so they remain available in your library. Voice recordings are kept until you delete the voice or your account.

When you delete your account, we delete your personal information — including voice recordings, stories and videos — and instruct our processors to delete associated data, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal, tax or security obligations. Backups are overwritten on our normal rotation cycle.

10. How we protect information

We use technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, authenticated sign-in, and private cloud storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you and the relevant authorities of a data breach where the law requires.

11. International data transfers

We are based in Australia and primarily process data in Australia. Some sub-processors process data in the United States or other countries. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses — and take steps to ensure your information remains protected.

12. Your privacy rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is inaccurate or out of date;
  • delete your information (you can delete your account and data from the app);
  • receive a copy of certain information in a portable format;
  • object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time; and
  • lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.

You can exercise most rights directly in the app: manage or delete voices and characters on your profile, and permanently delete your account (which erases your data) from account settings. For any other request, contact us at privacy@voxnour.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

13. Regional disclosures

Australia. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy complaint, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

EEA & United Kingdom. If you are in the EEA or UK, we process your information under the GDPR / UK GDPR on the legal bases described in Section 5, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

California. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. California residents may exercise their rights to know, delete and correct as described in Section 12.

14. Cookies & local storage

We use essential browser storage (such as local storage) to keep you signed in and to remember preferences like your selected profile. These are necessary for the Service to function. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or sell data collected through cookies.

15. Push notifications

If you opt in, we store a push-notification subscription so we can tell you when a story finishes generating. You can turn notifications off at any time in your browser or device settings, and we will stop sending them.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
